This vintage Turkish rug is woven in the beloved Persian Bakhtiari design manner: an ornate lobed medallion with an ivory-and-red diamond center floats on a midnight-navy field densely planted with blossoms and vines, set off by soft sky-blue spandrels. The madder-red main border carries large floral cachets in green, gold, and ivory between tidy guard stripes. Hand-knotted in wool at roughly 5 x 7 ft, it has the broken-in color and character only age provides.
